Origin: Austria - Wachau | Variety: Grüner Veltliner | Producer: Domäne Wachau
Domäne Wachau is one of Austria’s most renowned wineries, based in Austria’s most prestigious wine growing region, the Wachau. Steep terraced yineyards, a cool, marginal climate and meagre primary rock soils define the wines. „Federspiel“ stands for dry, medium bodied and elegantly balanced wines of the Wachau.
The „Kaiserberg“ (the „emperor’s hill“) was the ancient campground of emperor Charlemange who banished the Avars from the Wachau around 800 AD. Kaiserberg is situated west of Dürnstein. Wines from Kaiserberg are renowned for their superb overall balance and their classical mineral character.
Bright straw yellow with delicate golden nuances. The nose melds distinct aromas of white pepper with ripe yellow apple, tobacco and a more exotic suggestion of tropical fruits. The palate convinces through a pronounced mineral character, concentration and length. More exotic fruit aromas in the finish.
