Wachau Panorama
2017 | Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder Katzensprung

Origin: Austria - Wachau | Variety: Grüner Veltliner | Producer: Domäne Wachau

Domäne Wachau is one of Austria’s most renowned wineries, based in Austria’s most prestigious wine growing region, the Wachau. Steep terraced yineyards, a cool, marginal climate and meagre primary rock soils define the wines. „Steinfeder“ stands for dry, very light and fruit-driven wines of the Wachau.

Katzensprung
The grapes for Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder Katzensprung were carefully hand-picked from steep terraced vineyards surrounding the Wachau villages of Duernstein and Loiben. The unique combination of warm Pannonian climate and meagre primary rock soil yields inimitable wines displaying a well-structured and elegant style.

Tasting Note
The appearance is medium yellow-green. Juicy fruit aromas of red apples, subtle hints of citrus and quince balance the racy acidity. The palate is medium bodied and well balanced for great drinkability!

How to enjoy best
Serve well chilled at about 8°C. Perfectly accompanies antipasti and light starters, fried dishes such as the traditional “Wiener Schnitzel“ and fresh goat cheese. Drink young for maximum freshness or age for 1-2 years.
