Wachau Panorama
Vineyard Loibenberg

Loibenberg faces directly south and marks the entrance to the Wachau Gorge. Warm Pannonian air masses influence the microclimate of this vineyard which is situated between 750 and 1,380 feet above sea level and thus cooler in the upper terraces. Fuller bodied Smaragd wines are generally sourced from the lower terraces and are harvested slightly early than much of the rest of the Wachau. Primary rock with loess deposits comprises the vineyard soil.  Grüner Veltliner and Riesling in their best expression are sourced here.
