The individual terroirs of the Wachau’s steep and terraced vineyards are the foundation of our single vineyard wines. It gives them character, depth and uniqueness.
Grapes from primary rock sites too tiny for a single vineyard wine are blended together. ‘The ‘’Terrassen’’ series of wines’ ranges from the light Steinfeder and the elegant Federspiel to the full-bodied Smaragd – each a classic expression of the Wachau and the vintage.
Along the Danube
Along the danube you can find wines from Wachau Classic, Himmelstiege and Katzensprung, as well as our Grüner Veltliner crafted by Heinz & Friends.
Domäne Wachau Backstage stands for wines outside the traditional Wachau style. Whether it is rare grape varieties, alternative vinification in amphorae or cement egg, or oak-fermented rosé, anything is possible!
