Over the past few years, Domäne Wachau has fundamentally transformed. From a traditional cooperative, it has become a pioneer of precise, sustainable, origin-driven viticulture. Under the leadership of Roman Horvath MW and Heinz Frischengruber, hundreds of parcels are vinified individually.

Our growers cultivate their small plots with maximum manual work, extensive experience, and deep respect for soil and climate. Biodiversity, organic farming, and regenerative thinking are not buzzwords but daily practice. The combination of steep terraces, poor primary rock soils, and cool nights creates ideal conditions for taut, puristic wines. Many hands work together toward one goal: making origin tangible. The result is a clear, modern style that enjoys international recognition and further strengthens the Wachau as a top wine region.
